About the Role

Life Line Housing is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations and ensure the organization’s long-term stability and growth. This role provides strategic leadership in budgeting, accounting, and fiscal planning to support Life Line Housing’s mission of recovery, restoration, and community impact.

The CFO will manage financial reporting, compliance, and stewardship of funds, working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop sustainable strategies that align with the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, along with a background in nonprofit or faith-based financial management. A degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is required; CPA or equivalent experience is preferred.

Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.

  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.

  • At least 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership, accounting or business operations, including strategic planning and budgeting.

  • Prior experience managing large financial functions or departments, ideally in a nonprofit, mission-driven, or complex organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Financial management, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control systems.

  • Regulatory framework, compliance requirements, financial reporting and internal controls.

  • Business operations, strategic planning, investment, asset management and risk mitigation.

  • Organizational governance, board relations, and executive decision-making.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Leadership: direct financial/budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency. O*NET OnLine+1

  • Communication: prepare and present financial reports, advice, or recommendations clearly to executives, board members, and stakeholders. O*NET OnLine+1

  • Problem Solving: implement corrective action plans, identify cost reductions, policy change or program improvement. O*NET OnLine+1

  • Technology & tools: proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, data analysis tools, financial modelling, dashboards and metrics. O*NET OnLine

  • Integrity and ethical judgment: Must handle confidential information, uphold fiduciary responsibility, and align with organizational mission and values (especially in a faith-based or nonprofit context).

Other Requirements
  • Ability to work closely with executive leadership and board of directors, aligning financial strategy with mission and operational goals.

  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams and establishing efficient processes.

  • Experience in fundraising, grants oversight, donor financial reporting (if applicable in a nonprofit setting).

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, multiple stakeholders, and mission-driven outcomes rather than purely profit-driven metrics.

  • Must pass background check and comply with any industry or regulatory standards relevant to the organization.
